Castles!!

On Saturday of the Easter weekend we decided to play tourist - something we haven't done in some time - and went in search of some castles. We made it to two castles in Aberdeenshire: Fyvie Castle and Fraser Castle.

Here's Ryan in the car making a funny face. Notice how his ankles are crossed? He often sits like that!

Ryan travelled well excep that the little rascal only slept half an hour the entire day!!

This is the front of Fyvie Castle. This castle was just sold the he National Trust for Scotland in 1984 with all its contents so it's really a living museum.

After looking around inside we spent some time wandering the grounds and letting Ryan burn off some energy. There was a cool walled garden - fruits, veg, flowers - but nothing really growing yet.

From Fyvie Castle we headed to Fraser Castle, not too far away. We got there just before closing and had time for a quick walk through. Not quite as enjoyable as Fyvie Castle but the grounds were well-equipped with play stuff for older kids.
