Holland Trip!!!

At long last I am sitting down and getting our trip pictures sorted - we've been back for a week but it's been busy! Enough of that, I'm sure you want to see photos and maybe hear a little about the trip.

All the flights went well (we flew from Inverness via London so there were 4 flights). Thankfully none were full and we always managed to get 3 seats to ourselves, what a difference that makes!


Left is Ryan in the play area at London Gatwick airport. He was so happy to get out of the pushchair for a bit.





People absolutely loved watching Ryan while we were waiting for flights, and he loved having an audience!

Here, he is playing with his pushchair all folded up. He discovered that he could push it around and was quite pleased with himself.



Oma (Ryan's great-grandma) is in Holland for a month and we decided to take advantage of this and go to see her.





Our cousins, Jos and Marije, were kind enough to host and entertain all of us for the 5 days we were there. It was great, they managed to borrow a car seat, travel cot and toys for Ryan. They even had the exact same walker he has here - except that it spoke Dutch!! He still knew when it asked him to clap his hands though!

With Oma reading one of the books she gave him for Christmas - he loves these flap books!

The next few pictures are of our day in Zandvoort (a town on the sea). We had a great time on the beach; it was a glorious day!
Here we are relaxing for lunch and catching a few rays!

Ryan's first experience with sand! He didn't like to crawl on the dry sand much - he did it commando style so his hands didn't touch the sand. He did pat and play with the sand a bit though.

By the time this picture was taken Ryan had walked several paces and had had enough - sinking knees syndrome!

Wet sand was much better for crawling on (also dirtier!).

Unfortunately, I was a poor photorapher and missed getting Jos in on any of them. Ryan loved Jos who taught him how to 'high-five', he's really good at it and has been showing off his new trick all week!
